HELP US FUNDRAISE FOR WILLIAM SANSUM DIABETES CENTER AND WE COULD WIN $1,000,000 FROM REVLON!
Until recently, women who had diabetes were told not to have children. The risk factors were many: birth defects, blindness, deformities, high birthweights and passing diabetes to their children.
Protocols developed at WSDC changed this false concept for women worldwide. However, to give birth to a healthy baby still requires a tremendous effort on the part of the mother-to-be.
At WSDC, we take care of women who have diabetes during pregnancy. A woman knows that her diabetes directly affects her growing baby’s health during pregnancy. It is a heavy burden. A pregnant woman with diabetes must quadruple her efforts, thinking about EVERY THING she eats, pricking her finger to check her blood sugar more than SIX times per day! She thinks about diabetes at least EVERY HOUR of EVERY DAY. She does it all for the LOVE she feels for the new life growing in her womb, with hope for a bright and healthy future. Helping women navigate the difficult road of diabetes and pregnancy to deliver healthy babies is WSDC’s definition of LOVE.
