EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
Information Systems Manager, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston
I started running in 2000, when my father was suffering from Chronic Lymphocitic Leukemia. I completed the New York City Marathon – my first – that fall and was privileged to share the joy of the accomplishment with Dad before he passed away two months later.
Altogether I have 22 marathons under my belt, including 10 Boston Marathons, as well as two ultramarathons and three Ironman triathlons.
My most recent race – the 2012 Baystate Marathon – was very special. I ran a PR of 2:55, with my wife, Tiffany, and two daughters cheering me on at several spots along the course.
I take great pride in working at Beth Israel. My team works hard to help the hospital operate efficiently and direct as many resources as possible toward patient care and research.
I'm psyched to be running Boston ’13 as a WUNner. We’ll be out there to raise narcolepsy awareness and much-needed funds for research to find a cure.
Please support my run with a generous contribution. And if you’re out there on April 15, give me a loud shoutout as I run by! Thanks!
