The Sudan Development Foundation (SUDEF) is a 501c3 non-profit and was founded in 2008 by members of the Sudanese Diaspora. SUDEF's mission is to help transform and empower individuals to create economically viable, self-sustaining communities that will break the cycle of violence caused by poverty.
Decades of war and displacement have left the majority of Southern Sudan without trained or skilled workers, most adults are illiterate, little to no access to capital and without access to even the most basic healthcare.
Our Health Clinic and Maternal & Child Health program support the health and well-being of rural communities. Our Community Resource and Training Centers address five key areas necessary to creating sustainable, healthy communities. Community Based Healthcare, Accelerated Adult Literacy, Skills & Trade Training, Micro-finance, and Improved Agriculture.
