Alison Davies

James Asquith and Jamie Purcell need all the help they can get:

Their challenge is to sail Toppers 31 miles across the English Channel. For more details about the difficulties involved please look at our ‘Trip’ page.

Both boys have been inspired to sail this challenge as they have a personal connection to the devastating disease of bowel cancer. Sailing for Team GBR, the boys have become close to a family who are extremely involved in coaching, who deliver a high level of training and support to our up and coming sailors.

Unfortunately earlier this year, the family received news that someone very close to them had been diagnosed with bowel cancer. Being a wife and mother and suffering from the effects of treatment cannot have been easy, but the family still remain committed to their love of the sport and to the many, many children they support throughout the sailing season.

This charity has also been chosen as Jamie sadly suffered a personal loss to the disease when his Grandma, Valerie Erskine passed away in August 2008.

We would ask you to support the boys in their challenge by raising and donating as much money as possible.

Please spend the time to look through our website for details on the challenge, and to keep up to date with our progress via our blog, for sailing information about the boys and instructions on how to donate.

Any corporate sponsorship would be extremely welcome.
