BENEFITING: XBOT ROBOTICS A NONPROFIT CORPORATION
My name is Bryan Griffin and I'm a board member for XBOT Robotics. XBOT is a Seattle based non-profit started in 2000 by professional engineers and robot enthusiasts that provides 50+ youth per year with in-depth, hands-on experience in designing, building, and programming both small and large scale robots.
The large robots, built over 6 weeks and weighing 120 pounds, are entered into the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) competition. Under strict rules, limited time and resources teams of about 25 students design a team brand, design/build and program the robot to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors.
The programs offered by XBOT offers participants the opportunities to explorer science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines and help keep them out of trouble by providing stimulating after school activities.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to ensure that XBOT has the ability to fund the teams along the way without having to make cuts. Any gift is greatly appreciated.
