Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino’s first Hunger Walk 5/14/16
Riverside, CA (4/26/16) – Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino’s first ever Hunger Walk, “March against Hunger”, will take place Saturday May 14th, 2016, at San Manuel Stadium in San Bernardino.
The walk, beginning at 8am, will feature a unique 2.5 mile course starting at home plate inside San Manuel Stadium, home of minor league affiliate the San Bernardino 66ers. Walkers will be on the field and travel through the stadium and parking lot where they will finish.
Special guests scheduled to appear include; Congressman Pete Aguilar | CA-31, San Bernardino First Ward City Council Member Virginia Marquez, as well as players from the San Bernardino 66ers and mascots Bernie and Slick.
The walk is made possible in part by the generous support of sponsors including: Target, Cargill, Ashley Furniture and in-kind sponsors; Stater Bros, Kaiser Permanente, and Fruit In Fruit Juice.

Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino Counties began in 1980 as Survive Food Bank in response to the increasing concern about the dual problems of hunger and food waste in the Inland Empire. Today, Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino is the primary source of food for over 580 nonprofit organizations, distributing over 2.5 million pounds of food monthly to emergency food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, high-need elementary schools, halfway houses, senior centers, residential treatment centers, shelters for the abused, after school programs and group homes. More than 425,000 men, women and children each month rely on the food bank’s distribution center to make ends meet.
