BENEFITING: MICHAEL J FOX FOUNDATION FOR PARKINSONS RESEARCH
EVENT DATE: Nov 27, 2014
I'm donating my 26th birthday for Parkinson's Disease. Join me in speeding up a cure.
As many of you know, my family has been dealing with Parkinson's Disease for some time. My father was diagnosed when I was quite young and it's always been a reality for us. He was an energetic, vibrant person with a huge personality. He was always athletic and a member of various clubs. It's heartbreaking to watch such a lively person turn into someone completely different.
Here are the basics:
PD is a neurological disease in which neurons gradually break down or die.
Symptoms include tremors, rigidity, cognitive impairment, mood disorders, and speech problems.
There is no cure.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation has funded more than $450 million to speed a cure for Parkinson's disease. Join me in the fight against PD so that people like my father have a chance at a full life.
