Xu Qin's Battle with Cancer
Organized by: Jonathan Zou
Hello. My name is Jonathan Zou. I'm a 9th grader heading into high school. I'm raising money for my beloved teacher, Xu Qin. Xu Qin is one of the teachers I respect most. She's always an enthusiastic and optimistic teacher. She is teaches when necessary, laughs at jokes, and even will throw parties after tests or exams. She taught speech class and chinese class to me through various years, starting when I was in 4th grade up until 8th grade. In these 4 years, Xu Qin coached me through speeches, taught me various virtues of life, and of course, called me "honey baby" once in a while. Xu Qin became one of the best family friends of my family, and she was soon sharing her jokes with my family and friends. Xu Qin grew to be one of the most prominent figures in the community. A few weeks ago, Xu Qin was diagnosed with lung cancer. This was a heavy blow to the entire Chinese community in Ann Arbor. Due to the late detection, the cancer had moved to her spine. The money would be used for paying parts of her medical bill and/or gifts. It would be appreciated if the funds could be obtained in the next month. This means the world to me because over the years, Xu Qin has almost became like a fairy godmother to me. She has coached me, taught me, even taken care of me throughout the years. Obtaining these funds would not only mean this much to me, but also to the entire Chinese community in Ann Arbor and around. The community and I would be overwhelmingly thankful for any funds we could receive. Thank you so much for your time!
