THE STORY:

PHILADELPHIA YOUTH FOR CHANGE wrote -

"Scholarship recipients are selected because they demonstrated YouthBuild's core values - excellence, respect, and perseverance - so we know they are ready for the next step. You can help them successfully take that next step by donating the Scholarship Fund today."

-Khrista Pullium, YouthBuild Class of 2009 Salutatorian and John Rosenthal Memorial Scholarship Recipient

Every year, the Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to selected graduates of YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School. This support helps our most outstanding students - all of them former high-school dropouts and many of them first-generation college students - pay for their post-secondary education. While financial aid and some scholarships will only help with tuition, our $500 scholarships can be used to pay for books and supplies - which are necessary for success in college, and can cost students up to $1,100 a semester at the community college level.

A member of our Board of Trustees has generously offered to match donations up to $3,000. If we meet this challenge, we'll be able to award 20 scholarships at our August graduation ceremony.

This is a great opportunity to help our graduates build on their success and become life-long learners and leaders in their career and community. Help us reach $5,000 by donating today!
