Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch is a fully accredited, comprehensive services agency providing psychiatric residential and community based services for seriously emotionally disturbed youth.
Located on the edge of Billings, Montana, our 400-acre main campus includes nine residential lodges, two of which are intensive-care units, two therapeutic community homes, and an accredited school. We are an integral member of the Billings medical community. As a private, not-for-profit multi-service agency, we provide intensive residential treatment and extensive Community Based Services (CBS) for youth and families. CBS provides therapeutic community homes, case management, day treatment, therapeutic foster care and support services in various Montana communities with an independent living program for young adults in Billings.
Following a comprehensive medical, psychiatric and psychological assessment, each youth begins treatment in the least restrictive setting possible. As progress is made, the youth become eligible for movement to less structured settings with more privileges and increased responsibilities. Each youth has an individualized treatment plan including psychotropic medications when necessary, individual cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy, comprehensive educational services and pastoral care. When eligible, youth may also participate in experiential and equine assisted therapy and therapeutic work experiences.
