Yenessa is a vivacious and resilient 26-year-old mother of three. She was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma in 2012 when she was three months pregnant with her youngest child. After delivering a healthy baby, Yenessa has battled though three years of surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and physical therapy. Despite multiple relapses, a possibility of losing her leg, and re-learning to walk, she remains positive and determined.
Currently, Yenessa's cancer has progressed into her lungs, categorizing her in the most advanced disease stage. She is undergoing chemotherapy in preparation for a major open chest surgery to remove the tumors in her lung.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Yenessa is currently living in Jacksonville, FL for medical treatment at Mayo Clinic. She is here with her husband and mother who are assisting with caregiving, support, and childcare. We would like your help sending Yenessa and her family on the trip of a lifetime to Disney, Universal, and Islands of Adventure in Orlando!
