BENEFITING: The ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter
Training for my first marathon has taken a lot of time; time away from family, time away from chores, time solely for me. I want to take this race and make it more than just an event for myself. Admittedly , I held off on setting up the fundraiser as I wasn't sure I'd be capable of a full marathon. But, after 12 weeks of training, my long run is up to 16 miles and I'm confident I'll finish. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig' disease, is a cause close to my Neverosky family's heart. All funds raised will be donated to the ALS association Western Pennsylvania Chapter. Funds used will be used to support families in the region and to champion a cure and improved treatments for those experiencing this disease. If you are unfamiliar with ALS and would like more information, here is a great source of knowledge. http://www.alsa.org/about-als/what-is-als.html
