Yesenia Rojas' Legal Fund
Organized by: Dee Velasco
Yesenia Rojas has been organizing in community efforts for over 15 years. As a mother of 6, she is a passionate believer in the power of community organizing in making root cause change for the benefit of the next generation. In the summer of 2012, her community of Anna Drive was risen to a national spotlight as a result of a police shooting of an unarmed man as children played in the street. In response, Yesenia immersed herself and her family in unifying the community by organizing after school programs and free family events.
She will be on trial in the coming months and needs financial support to pay for legal fees of $4000 to pay her attorney. As an advocate for her community, she needs all of the support she can get. Please donate as much as you can. We understand that ‘as much as you can’ is sometimes $5 and for others it’s $1000—any amount will be greatly appreciated!
