Please join me in celebrating my birthday by raising money for the "American Association of Caregiving Youth". Today, AACY is the only organization of its kind in the United States for addressing the issues surrounding the silent, vulnerable and hidden population who provide care for family members who are sick and unable to manage life independently. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation found in a study that of students who drop out of school for personal reasons, 22% do so to care for a family member.
My goal is $5,000.00 but let’s see if we can blow that out of the water! They currently only operate in Florida but their mission is to expand and replicate the model across the country to support the conservatively estimated 1.4 million children who providing care for a sick family member and need support. Let’s help them make their way! Here is a link to the website and the original article that moved me so much. THANK YOU THANK YOU in advance!
