BENEFITING: YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh
ORGANIZER: YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh
EVENT: Pittsburgh Marathon 2016
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
In May of 2015 I ran my first marathon in memory of my Grandmother and raised money for a cause near to her (and my) heart, the Animal Rescue League. Running the Pittsburgh Marathon for charity last year truly enriched my experience, making it that much more meaningful. I truly appreciate all the support I received.
Last summer Emily and I moved to Pittsburgh and I again will run the Marathon in May, but this time as a resident of my favorite city. I decided to once again run for a cause, and chose to fundraise for the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh.
I fell in love with the "Y" as an organization while living in Houston. I continue to be impressed and inspired by all they do in the community here in Pittsburgh, the city I currently live in, grew up in and love. I would be honored if you would consider making a donation to this cause and supporting the team.
Just a few of the charitable programs that YMCA campaign funds go to include:
Eliminating Health Disparities
--Provides $120,000 annually in membership and program subsidies --Diabetes Prevention Program--Healthy Kids Day is an annual day at the Y to enhance childhood health and wellness
