BENEFITING: EARTH ISLAND INSTITUTE INC
EVENT DATE: Aug 31, 2014
Every year on September 1, the dolphin hunts begin again in Taiji, Japan.
Day after day, hunters in their boats go out in search for pods, using metal poles to bang, confuse the dolphins and drive them into a cove (as investigated and revealed in the movie, The Cove). Some are picked out and reserved for the captivity trade. While the rest are massacred with spears and knives and left to bleed to death in their own blood bath. It is autrocious and immoral and NOT a tradition, which the fishermen of Taiji would like you to believe.
With the recent release of Blackfish (www.blackfishmovie.com), more and more people are concluding that dolphins and whales do NOT belong in captivity. But there is so much more work and education to be done.
Join me (and many groups around the world) in showing love and support for dolphins and whales, and speak up against the hunts and captivity!!
On Sunday, 8/31/14, I will be teaching a charity 75 min yoga session at Memorial Park, Jacksonville, FL, at 9:00am - the same time the hunt resumes. Let's send positive chi out to those beautiful souls in need.
Om shanti. x x
