Hi everyone! My name is Heather Wolf and I am running the NYC Half Marathon on March 20th, 2016! Leading up to the race, I will be raising funds for the inspiring organization "You Can NOT Be Replaced", which is also my platform as Miss Staten Island 2016 in the Miss America Organization. You Can NOT Be Replaced is all about empowerment, education, and suicide prevention. A fundamental part of You Can NOT Be Replaced, is the wristband movement. These wristbands are passed out to the community to educate people that everyone is irreplaceable, and to encourage random acts of kindness. The wristbands say "I Can NOT Be Replaced" on them. If you receive a wristband, you are instructed to:
1. Put on the bracelet with the words facing up so you can read it and know that you are 'irreplaceable'.
2. Wear it until you see someone that you feel the band is supposed to be passed to: whether you know them or not. This could be tomorrow, next month or a year from now. You’ll know when it’s time.
3. When you do pass it, tell the person something positive about them or life. That one small act of kindness will not ever be wasted and the band is replaceable but the person is not.
4. Come back to youcannotbereplaced.com for another band. Tell us it’s a replacement band and we’ll send you two for one. One for you and another to give.
The funds raised help us send wristbands and other awesome materials to students, schools and people in crisis locally and beyond. Please donate to support You Can NOT Be Replaced, and please come out to cheer for me as I run 13.1 miles on March 20th, 2016!
