Young Adult Oncology Group
Organized by: Sammi Jean
I Sammi am a 5.5 year survivor of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. When I was diagnosed, the cancer was in 85% of my skeleton. After I was declared "no evidence of disease" , I had no one to talk to about what I was feeling or had gone through who wasn't a child or an older adult / professional. Two years ago I found this amazing group of young adult cancer survivors! We can relate to each other over stories of treatment, side effects and wondering "what next?". Our group receives small donations about 4 times a year to spend time together. We meet for appetizers or go bowling, but finding sponsors to donate these events can be a struggle. We want to be able to hold more events to spend time with each other, and to raise awareness that our group exists! We want other survivors to know that we are here for them and they aren't alone like I thought I was. Enjoy viewing photos from our past events, and a members video of her personal journey and why the group is important.
