Young breast cancer survivor wants to preserve fertility
Organized by: Nikki Miller
Nikki/Nicole Miller just turned 35. She just beat breast cancer! One of the things you don't hear enough about in young women with breast cancer is how treatment effects fertility. Nicole is essentially cancer free but still will have to like to many other young women undergo 32 rounds ofradiation therapy, hormone blocking pills and they are still testing the tumor but possible chemo. All these things make it near impossible for a woman to concieve. She like to many others has about a two week time frame to freeze her eggs or embryos... Even with programs that assist cancer patients it will cost about 10-15,000. She has been married to her husband for 10 years, they were waiting for the right time to start a family. She feels like she has tried everything. This is something insurance can't cover. Can you help her?
