Who are Young Friends of WEN?
Young Friends of Women's Employment Network (WEN) is a group of philanthropically minded young professionals interested in advancing the lives of women in the Greater Kansas City area.
What is the YFOW Spring Fundraising Challenge?
This challenge is a fundraising and friend-raising campaign, by which YFOW members will raise a minimum of $500 for Women’s Employment Network throughout the 6-week campaign while concurrently spreading awareness about WEN and fortifying our network of support.
Where does the money this campaign raise go?
Funds raised by the YFOW Challenge will help Women’s Employment Network meet their annual budget projections and allow them to assist more women in gaining the skills, confidence, and resources they need to become economically self-sufficient.
What will your donation support?
WEN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Kansas City, Missouri. Their mission is to help women raise their self-esteem and economic independence through sustained employment.
Through structured and personalized career services, WEN creates positive change in the lives of women who struggle with social, economic and educational barriers to employment. WEN’s core services include:
- Licensed case management and community referrals
- Career exploration
- Job-search assistance
- Financial coaching and training
- Ongoing support for program graduates
$25 will pay for a woman's haircut before she goes to interview for jobs.
$50 will pay for a monthly bus pass for one woman.
$100 will pay for professional attire for one woman.
$250 will buy 25 flash drives that women use for job searches.
$500 will pay for a woman to attend all Personal Development & Workplace Management Workshops.
$1,000 will pay for one woman to attend WEN's five-week program.
