Jamie Young, an assistant coach for the 17-Time NBA Champion Boston Celtics, will host his 2nd youth basketball academy at the PepsiCo Center in Rock Island, IL during the week of July 27-30, 2015. He will be joined by an experienced coaching staff from across the country to help develop fundamental basketball skills: shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and defense. These fundamentals of the game will be practiced through a variety of drills, contests and games. This camp will host boys and girls entering 2nd-8th grades. Our Mission: The coaches and staff at the Young Hope Basketball Academy are committed to providing an environment of personal and physical growth through fundamental skill training, team collaboration, and character development. We strive to foster an environment of learning, discipline, and enthusiasm for the game. Participants will leave as leaders with hearts for giving on and off the court. Goals of the Academy: *Provide a dynamic basketball environment of coaches and support staff dedicated to each participant’s personal growth *Facilitate fundamental skill training through individualized and small group activities *Advance sportsmanship and teamwork through structured drills and competitive play *Build a network of resources to support each participant’s physical, emotional, and spiritual development *Encourage each participant to reach out beyond the court and to become contributing members of the local community
