From the moment we started dating we knew that we wanted to have a family. Originally we thought of adopting but after much discussion we decided that for our first child we wanted to have the complete experience of pregnancy, feeling all of the cravings, hormones, happiness, fear and amazement. Pregnancy is not something I ever thought I'd do but having found a wonderful life partner whom I love and adore--I can't imagine not having a family with her. I want all of the things that I never knew I wanted.
A few months ago we started researching gay friendly sperm banks, insemination options, insurance plans and the list goes on. Luckily we live in an area that allowed us access to organizations we might not have access to elsewhere. In fact, the available options were overwhelming. We have decided on using a local lesbian owned sperm bank and started the process of insemination in July 2015. We were hopeful that the pregnancy would take on the first try but unfortunately it did not. We were not deterred in the slightest and plan to continue to try to conceive each month until that egg latches on. We are asking that Instead of wedding, birthday and Christmas presents that you contribute to help cover the ridiculous expenses that go into making a baby happen and to help provide us with a life time of the kind of crazy that is being a parent. There is no contribution too small.
