One in every eight women develop breast cancer in the United States and unfortunately Tammy is one of them. Tammy is a strong minded and extermely strong woman with the will to survive. She is geared up for the battle of her life. Tammy is ready to do her part. I am asking that we , her friends, family, and loved ones unite and do what we can to help her get through this. " You never know how strong you are until strong is the only choice you have." Let's remind Tammy that she has the strength of all of her supporters! Rather it is prayer, financial help, or even just a note to keep her spirits up. Tammy is a proud mother and nurse that is unable to work due to her illness. Any help you can offer will take that much more stress off of Tammy and let her focus on her recovery.
Tammys journey began in May 2015 when she discovered a lump in right breast. On September 9, 2015 she had a mammogram and immediately followed by an ultrasound of the breasts. Two days after, on September 11 Tammy was in her surgeons office for an initial consultation. On September 16 the surgeon performed a core biopsy. September 18, 2015 Tammy received the news no woman wants to hear. A phone call from her surgeon confirmed she indeed has breast cancer. Since the diagnosis Tammy has had to have a pap smear and pelvic ultrasound to rule out possibe metastisis into the female organs. Tammy has had a glorified staging surgery scheduled and cancelled twice now pending the results of a bone scan and the BRCA. The labs have been drawn twice for the BRCA but the doctors failed to get the proper authorization so no results can be given. The cancellations are due to necessary authorizations for the bone scan that have been submitted improperly FOUR times now! Tammy is at an unwanted stand still with her treatment and at the mercy of her medical team. Until she is treated and able to return to work I ask that we please come together and help in any way possible. All new information and/or procedures will be updated as it occurs.
Any ideas for fundraisers are also welcome as we are not asking for handouts, but a handup. Thank you and God Bless!!
