Youth football program
Organized by: amy madden
A small town in Beaver County, PA known as Monaca recently had a string of bad luck with its youth football program. There were people in place on a board that did not wish to see this program continue and voted to dissolve the football program. The Monaca lil Indians reputation had been tarnished, not by the kids or the work and effort they put in but by poor management by the adults. My son played in the organization for 8 years and I hate to see it go down the way it did. Many kids from the town have moved on to neighboring teams but many kids still came here to actually participate and be a part of the team instead of being the players that sit on the bench with their teams from their town. It is these kids I want to give an opportunity to by creating an organization where all kids can join and all kids get playing time. We are not playing with the sole purpose of winning but instead we are trying to teach our youth the game and actually contributing to a winning effort. Too often in youth sports you see kids sitting on the bench week after week. Those kids may be better, faster, stronger then some on the field but they are not a child of a coach or their parents arent friends with the coach. We have children from all skill levels wanting to join our team including kids with learning disabilities. With the Beaver County Panthers I want to change that. The funds will be used to create a non profit organization to start up this youth football team. I am not just looking for cash though. I could use some expertise on how to make this happen and football gear donations as well. Thank You all for giving these kids a chance when no one else would.
