THE STORY:

"AIDS is spreading!"

The HIV/AIDS pandemic among young people is spreading like wild fire. It is affecting all teens, straight, bi, gay, all races, cultures and genders -- because unprotected sex is very risky. It is actually worse now than it was before because programs in schools have virtually disappeared.

Our mission is to reverse this tragic trend and save millions in person and through the power of social media.

There are many myths about AIDS in Africa. One is “virgin cleansing” where an infected older man believes he can be cured by raping a young virgin! This has resulted in a startling increase in AIDS cases among young females and tragically is transmitted to their babies. Not only is this myth ignorant, it is criminal. Men are getting away with it because girls and their families are too embarrassed to admit it and the police often turn a blind eye.

It is our mission to share the information regardless of the powers to be -- because it is the human right of all maturing teens to know the correct medical facts. Our teen-sensitive, expert knowledge saves young, innocent lives.

We go to places where others do not venture because we believe all youth, regardless of circumstances need this life saving information. Our volunteers are selfless and devoted.

Christella survived the horrific Rwandan genocide who saw her parents and baby brother hacked to death. She has gone onto work with us educating the children of her former torturers because it’s the right thing to do.

Otenio from Kenya saved his child, young bride and neighbors from violent gangs during tribal turmoil that exploded. He now dedicates his life to an AIDS orphanage in Nairobi that Dr. John once worked at.

In Uganda we worked with Tebezinda, a young soccer star who went to sports fields to educate his peers. Now he is facing arrest because he insists that our medical information cannot be denied his high school classmates.

Jane from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa walked 12 miles to attend one of our hilltop trainings after her village was nearly wiped out by the disease. She now walks the countryside spreading the life saving message to villagers.

Here's how you can help continue this life saving mission:

1. Donate, and share this crowdrise page to help us raise money for the trip to Africa that begins October 6th.

2. Learn the true facts and ways to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell anyone that's willing to listen to the facts and ask them to donate today.

3. Get more information here.

With a donation of $20 or more you will receive our 3.5" "Global Walks" button.

If you are a large donor of $100 or more, you will receive a personalized photo postcard from Africa taken "live."

If you are a major donor of $500 or more, Dr. John and volunteers will call you from the road.

You tax-deductible donation goes entirely to the outreach, not overhead.

Without your help we cannot continue our mission to stop AIDS.
