In 2009, David and Justine Munoz lost their grandmother, and just 2 years later they lost their dad to suicide. The grief they were experiencing was overwhelming and they weren't receiving the support they needed. In 2012, David, Justine and their other siblings were able to attend a New Hope Family Grief Camp. Watch their video to hear their story of hope & healing and how New Hope impacted their lives. The camp experience allowed them to understand their grief and begin their journey towards their "new normal".
October 14, 2014 marks three years since David and Justine lost their Dad, Guy Munoz. Although their grief journey is not over, they are well on their to living out their "new normal". November 20th will be National Children's Grief Awareness Day and we are raising money to continue our mission of hope and healing in the lives of grieving children.
We believe, just like David and Justine, NO child should have to grieve alone. Please join us by making a tax-deductible donation. All funds raised will be used to support grieving children through New Hope grief support programs. If you prefer, you can write a check made out to New Hope and mail it to 3443 San Anseline Long Beach, CA 90808.
On behalf of David, Justine, the Munoz Family, and New Hope we thank you for your support and generosity!
--In Loving Memory of Guy Munoz--
The majority of children experience the death of a loved one throughout the course of their childhood. Furthermore, nearly 5% of children experience the death of a parent prior to the age of 18. Most of these children will not receive the proper grief support.
Fortunately, New Hope Grief Support Community is there
to support grieving children after the loss of a loved one. New Hope's mission is to help grieving people find hope and healing after a loved one dies. Through our nine-week grief support groups and family camps children receive the care, support and tools needed to successfully take their grief journey.
