Family, Friends and acquaintance,
My fundraiser's goal is to bring awareness and financial support to those around the world who do not recieve proper health care and natural resources for healthy living.
I approached the idea of a fundraiser in fear that people would pass it by like any other public agenda. There are problems in the world that we do not see regularly, if at all. Days, weeks and months go by where some have done nothing to give back, especially to strangers. This doesn’t make these people bad or thoughtless. Life fluctuates and sometimes you have the resources to help and sometimes you don’t. In a busy life- online donations make a big difference. They make contributing so very easy and fast.
Sometimes things have to be very “real” for people to feel the emotional drive to give back. You can change the channel from TV commercials, you can ignore beggars on the street corners and you certainly can have the perspective of "it would take a lot more than a simple donation of time or money to really make a difference."
Please think of something for me… What if you saw this person on the street corner?
Would you contribute then?
I know it is difficult to find motivation to give when you don’t see the outcome instantly or in front of you. This action calls for less ego and selfishness. Some people love to give, but they also might be all about the recognition of it as well. I don’t know when humans developed the strong desire for recognition, but if you make the selfless donation to my cause then I WILL see your beauty as a human being. And what you and I can’t see will be even more special. It will be the little boy or girl receiving a fresh cup of water that we take for granted in America. It will be the mother who is crying in happiness because her child is able to receive necessary vaccines, or it will be the person who can finally know what it is like to not scratch mosquito bites, and wonder if this bite would be the one that would kill them.
We adjust to our lifestyles and environments, so naturally we all get upset over the simple problems like when we run over a nail in our car, or when we have to work a longer day, or when we don’t get enough sleep, or when we ordered the pizza without olives and got a ton of em'.
Please take advantage of this easy opportunity to give. Especially if you are having a bad day. This will only brighten your day, my day, UNCEF and all the needy people’s days too! You know that these people depend on us. You know that without aid, those less fortunate would perish.
Thank you for reading my letter and enjoy you and your loved ones gifts and blessings!
