Youth Violence Reduction

Youth Violence Reduction Conference, entailing a college accredited course on Martin Luther King Jr. Six Principle of Non-Violence. Introduction of a faith/based adult monitored peer to peer driven business model featuring nature therapy at a farm site with a retail component in urban areas. The conference also will use a Hip Hop Symposium to give young adults a voice in their own self determination. Where they themselves can explore remedies from their peer group to lower the levels of violence. Other unique aspects of this conference are that it is conducted over 3 days at Concordia University in River Forest Illinois. Participants will not only be persons affected by gangs but young people who have suffered being objects of bullying. Participants will come from communities in Chicago, Atlanta, New Orleans, Washing DC and Cleveland Ohio.The core course on non-violence will be taught by Dr. Bernard La Fayette: current chair of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and colleague of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
