THE STORY:

The Yellow Ribbon Fund's TUF Team is comprised of injured veterans who have taken up the roll of Veteran Athlete Ambassadors in order to motivate & encourage other wounded veterans to "Take Up Fitness" as a powerful tool for their successful recovery.

By supporting this team, you support their efforts to fight depression, addiction and the other terrible pitfalls of longterm recovery among our injured or ill military veterans. Thank you for your Support!

Mission
To demonstrate the physical abilities possessed by adaptive athletes or those veterans who have or are still recovering from serious injury or illness. To reach out to and connect with those veterans still recovering from their injuries. To improve awareness among recovering veterans of the benefits of community based fitness like CrossFit (R).

WHO ARE WE?
We are a team of veterans who have been knocked down but refuse to stay down.

We are like many of you. Amputees, victims of traumatic brain injury, sufferers of post traumatic stress. Wounded through the service to our country, we veterans have have sought healing through the community of fitness. We have "Taken Up Fitness" to become whole again.

Now, we want to share the power of this fitness community with those of you who are wearing the same boots we once did.

The road to recovery is much longer than your stay at Walter Reed or your time with physical therapists. It is easy to become depressed, to self-medicate with food, alcohol, pills or even playstation. The government sends you money and you have left the hospital but are you really whole again?

Community fitness can be the strongest tool for recovery in your arsenal. Stronger than any pill prescribed, this community will strengthen you, empower you, encourage you and most important, hold you accountable by staying at your side and pushing you to finish the job you thought you never could.

Let us show you the power of community.
