BENEFITING: UNICEF USA
EVENT DATE: Dec 01, 2013
As you know the typhoon Haiyan has killed thousands and left millions of people homeless in the Philippines. Again, as with any disaster, the children are the most vulnerable.
UNICEF has been in the Philippines since the 1940’s and is well positioned to serve those most effected. Their first priorities are focused on life-saving interventions – getting essential medicines, nutritional supplies, safe water and hygiene to all that need it. And to make matters worse, this is not the first natural disaster to strike the region in the past month. Just three weeks ago, there was a 7.2 magnitude earthquake that caused havoc to the citizens of Bohol.
I will be racing the Singapore Marathon in two weeks to help Unicef raise funds that will be exclusively awarded to the children hit by the ravages of Haiyan.
Please help me put a smile back on their faces!
