BENEFITING: FOUNDATION RWANDA
On June 25th I'll be taking part in the world's longest kayak race as I attempt to kayak 440 miles from Whitehorse to Dawson City up in the Yukon. This will be bloody tough. The race is non stop and I'll be hoping to beat the cut off time of 70hrs...Yes that's potentially 70hrs of non-stop kayaking.
As much as I love adventure, i'm also hoping to raise some money along the way for a charity called Foundation Rwanda. Their mission is to provide education to children and women born of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. They are looking to raise $1.1 million which will help them get the women and children through school and ultimately close the organization down as the children graduate from school.
Having travelled around Rwanda and Congo i've seen first hand the lasting impact of the genocide and its ongoing impact in the Congo.
