I’M FINALLY DOING IT!
You heard me right, I am finally running the 2011 ING NYC Marathon! It will be the first of hopefully many more, so I am excited, scared, but so happy and I just can't wait for the big day, November 6th!
There is even more exciting news.... I am running to raise money for the Children’s Museum of Arts. I am asking my favorite family and friends to please support my excellerated 12 weeks of grueling training for this major accomplishment by donating $1, $10, $20, $50, or whatever you are able! If not, just follow me on Marathon Day by my entry number 817861.
Supporting this amazing organization helps provide the amazing benefits of arts education to students all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds through a variety of programs that include…
STRIPES: A program that provides monthly opportunities for children with autism, their siblings & parents to engage in visual art making, creative performing experiences, and imaginative play that will help to develop social interaction, communication skills, dexterity, and self expression in a non-threatening community environment.
RESTART: Multi-session free art programs for children living in transitional housing that includes exploring the art of weaving, printmaking and sculpture, culminating with an exhibition of the participating children’s artwork and a reception for families and friends.
ARTS TO LYFE: In partnership with the New York City Department of Education’s LYFE Program (Living for the Young Family through Education), CMA provides subsidized comprehensive services and childcare to low-income teenage parents, ages 12-18, working to complete their public high school education.
ARTOGETHER: A program that provides an opportunity for families receiving preventive services, in foster care working toward reunification, or building familial relationships to bond, interact, and play together in a comfortable and positive environment.
Please, Please, Please help me support this amazing organization in continuing it’s effort to change lives through arts education. To find out more about CMA go to http://www.cmany.org/.
Thank you in advance for your support. See you Marathon Day!
