Stuff About Me:

During my recent transitional period, God has made a way, and has led me to go on a short outreach with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) Hong Kong.  There has always been a love for the people of China in my heart.  I have always wanted to experience this land first hand and God has now opened the door and I deeply want to serve the people of China as Christ has commissioned us (Matthew 28).

Some quick fun facts about Hong Kong, China:

-     They are 13 hours ahead of time in Chicago

-     They are the 10th largest economy in the world

-     Their work week is Monday-Saturday

YWAM

YWAM has a very strong history and is currently the world’s largest mission’s organization. In my current season of life, YWAM Hong Kong and this particular outreach are the right fit especially with the timing and what the specifics of this program  I encourage you to check out their website and see the awesome ways God has blessed them in all their ministries.

              What’s all this about!?

During the trip I will have two separate roles. I begin my mission December 6th to December 12th, as a Missions builder. This involves coming into the YWAM base and assisting with preparations before the participants come in for the Christmas Outreach. This would include but isn’t limited to maintenance work, sewing, cooking, praying, cleaning, administrative work, and organizing. The rest of the trip, December 13th- 27th, will be “learning simple but effective dramas, dances, clowning and other creative ways to communicate the Gospel. We will also be spending lots of time in worship and intercession before we hit the streets, schools, city parks, and shopping malls of Hong Kong.” (YWAM Hong Kong COR.) What better time to spread the Gospel than during the celebratory season of our Savior’s birth. I truly believe that there will be breakthrough, even in such a short season.

Finances… awkward…

What I have learned in this season of trusting in God is to be content with whatever you have. I’ve learned that in order to fully understand God’s love I must accept graciously the service of others, just as they receive mine. I pray that God touches the hearts of those of you who can give to me, so that I may answer His call to further His Kingdom. With that said, I will also need financial support. My trip will cost about $3,000 and I am trusting God completely to supply for His work. This will cover my transportation, training, and my living expenses for the trip, as well as the visa and airfare. If all you can give is $5 or if you can give $500, I am completely grateful.  If you are able to give financial support or are willing to pray for my ministry this December, please complete the enclosed form and return before November 21st, 2012.

Prayer

I know you may not be able to help financially but prayer is just as important, if not the most important. I hope that you will be able to hold me in prayer and accountability.  These are some of the prayer’s that have been placed on my heart:

-     That God will be present in all of the people and interactions on this trip

-     That God opens our hearts to give and to receive

-     That my heart specifically continues to search out for His presence above all else

-     That God uses us to put the seed of His love in the people we encounter

Thank you!

It is also with great gratitude that I say thank you for reading this letter and for considering my needs for financial support and prayer. Please contact me if you have any questions. I am extremely excited about this ministry and hope you can share in my excitement and in the awesomeness that is God. If you have any questions or want more details just contact me whichever way is best for you.

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? [a] and how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” - Romans 10:14-15 (ESV)
