BENEFITING: Young Womens Christian Assoc Of Yonkers
EVENT DATE: Nov 19, 2016
On November 19th, 2016, Christine Osoria, founder of CEO of My Curves, will run a "5k to Raise 5k" to raise funds for YWCA Yonkers women's residence, which houses vulnerable females who have faced domestic violence, child abuse, substance abuse, mental illness and other life obstacles. The funds will help out with YWCA Yonkers' fuel cost in the winter months, beds, mattresses, renovation of a shower in disrepair, and a Thanksgiving dinner.
Christine Osoria is a mother of three who has dedicated her life to living a healthy, balanced lifestyle. After giving birth to her two daughters, Christine struggled with depression. She had gained over 60 lbs from her pregnancies and wasn’t in love with the person she saw in the mirror. Christine decided that she needed to make a change, so she started running to “lose weight.” Running, however, brought her more than just weight loss. Running gave her the confidence to love herself, regardless of shape or size. Since Christine started her fitness journey 5 years ago, she has run 5ks, 10ks, 13ks and mud runs, and she recently completed her second marathon in Chicago.
Christine's experiences led her to found CEO of My Curves, where she empowers women to love themselves and to be proud of their bodies. She encourages women to focus on being change agents in their own lives, and to empower others to do the same. Christine loves to help those in need and enjoys seeing others happy.
Christine is also the NY Captain for the Unbroken Foundation created by Ashley Horner to assist women currently living in shelters due to domestic violence.
