EVENT: Purple Purse Challenge
EVENT DATE: Oct 21, 2015
I want to end domestic violence, be a positive role model for my daughters, and support YWCA programs.
You can help by joining me at the October 21, 2015 Women of Distinction Luncheon at the DECC! It is from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm and features delicious food, YWCA highlights, an awards ceremony for this year's recipients, and much more. Donations of $15 or more will secure a seat at this amazing event! In addition, your donation is matched by others doubling the impact you have on domestic violence in our community!!! So give LOTS!!!
When you donate to the YWCA Purple Purse Campaign monies will be used to provide safe housing to young, new mothers, adult and youth education on domestic violence, and community initiatives to address domestic violence in the Twin Ports area.
The YWCA provides safe, supportive housing and 24/7 case management for teenage mothers through the Young Mother's Supportive Housing Program; comprehensive early education, parent education, and Circle of Security programming through our Early Childhood Education Center; and leadership, STEM, life skill, and social justice education in our Girl Power! and Mentor Duluth programs. Domestic violence, whether it be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or technological in nature, impacts many of the women and young girls we serve. The YWCA is committed to providing community programs, enhancing outreach services, and creating new community partnerships in order to address this heartwrenching challenge within our community.
