Recognizing that Domestic Violence is a serious social problem, the YWCA Hanover developed the Safe Home program in 1981. In 2015, Safe Home advocates served over 580 victims of domestic violence in the Hanover and surrounding communities and handled over 1100 hotline calls!
With your donation, Safe Home could provide the following for victims of domestic violence:
- $10- provide one domestic violence victim with a peephole or deadbolt lock for their door
- $50- provide one night emergency shelter for a domestic violence victim
- $100- Provide counseling for a domestic violence victim and her children
Safe Home services include: 24 hour Hotline; emergency temporary housing; referral and support; options counseling; legal advocacy; accompaniment and transportation to legal, medical and other appointments; support group; child therapy; and community education.
