The benefactors of the YWCA Northeast Kansas Purple Purse Challenge 2015 fundraiser are local survivors of abusive circumstances seeking assistance from the YWCA Northeast Kansas, located in Topeka and potentially serving 22 Kansas counties with an overarching population of 2.5 million people.

Last year, over 140 community partners nationwide, including the YWCA Northeast Kansas organization, came together in support of the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge through ongoing fundraising challenges, raising over $2,500,000 to help survivors of domestic violence gain the financial knowledge, skills and resources they need to break free from abuse.

During the month of October 2015 the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge is back with new challenges for fundraising community partners, including the YWCA Northeast Kansas again located in Topeka.  Please help support the YWCA Northeast Kansas and local survivors of abuse by donating  between October 1st and October 27th, during the 2015 nationwide challenge.

October 1-27, 2015.

WHY YOU SHOULD DONATE TODAY   For survivors in our Kansas community catchment area, access to services provided by the YWCA Northeast Kansas are critical, for without them many women, men and children would continue to live in dangerous, even life-threatening situations.

The YWCA Northeast Kansas provides a Center for Safety and Empowerment offering a full range of services to a broad spectrum of victims experiencing sexual violence, human trafficking, and physical abuse. Those victims often include children.

Focus is on immediate responses and long-term solutions to domestic violence. Services are multi-faceted and each fills a critical need in helping women break free from violence, heal and go on to lead self-sufficient lives.

The YWCA Northeast Kansas Center for Safety and Empowerment reaches thousands of women, men and children annually; services include:

  • Crisis Intervention
  • Emergency Shelter
  • Community-based Services
  • Legal Advocacy
  • Financial Literacy Training
  • Relationship Violence Prevention
  • Community Outreach and Education

The Purple Purse Challenge 2015 community partner, including YWCA Northeast Kansas, with the most funds raised by October 27th will be awarded $100,000.00 as a 1st place prize!  Now, how great would that be for Kansas victims!!

Your gift in any amount makes a difference.

Thank You for your donation!
