With your help we can grant Y-WE Citizenship to over 150 new girls this program year! In our new home at El Centro de la Raza in Beacon Hill, your contributions will help up launch these incredible programs this year:
-ACE-Academic & Career Explorations: A tutoring and professional support program that will be offered after school and on the weekends to support girls in meeting their academic and career goals!
-Alumnae Programs: Internship and job shadowing opportunities; social and emotional support through big life transitions from mentors; and professional development retreats.
-Nature Connections: Year-round outdoor education programming that includes access to the Northwest's natural wonders and environmental sustainability workshops, supported through a partnership with the Mountaineers & WA State's No Child Left Inside grant.
With your investment in Y-WE, YOU are building global citizenship. YOU are combatting the political rhetoric of hatred, which has been so rampant this election season. YOU are combatting the alarming increase in bullying, harassment and intimidation of students whose races, religions, nationalities, sexual orientations, and gender identities have been the targets of verbal, emotional, and physical violence.
At Y-WE 97% of our participants say that they learn to no longer fear people who are different than them as a result of being in our diverse community. We need the messages of inclusiveness, justice, and love that our Y-WE Citizens so powerfully share. We need young leaders who know they can make social change by working together and learning from one another.
Over 90% of Y-WE participants need full scholarship in order to participate in these life changing programs. Please help us raise the funds needed to send our young women leaders to Y-WE and welcome new #YWECitizens! Thank you for making such a difference in the lives of young women by investing in their power & potential!
When you make a gift to Y-WE's scholarship fund this fall, you are making an enduring investment in the education, professional training, and mentorship of our future leaders!
The first $10,000 in donations will be generously matched by the Chin Family Foundation thanks to board memeber Candace Chin!
