On October 25th in ATL there is a fundraising event called the Merrick's Walk. It is a 2.7 mile walk around Chastain park to raise awareness of eating disorders, to remember those who have lost their battle with an eating disorder, and to raise funds for the Eating Disorders Information Network (EDIN) and support the work to raise awareness, prevent eating disorders and promote healthy body image and positive self-esteem in children, youth and adults in the Atlanta community. I am part of the EDIN (eating disorder information network) Junior Board in Atlanta and this had had a true impact on my life and my awareness of poisitve body image and eating disorders. This has closely affected my life, and I know I need everyones help to keep spreading the word and educating others on eating disorders and positive body image.
My fraternity, AEPi, at the University of Georgia has started a team to raise money and we are asking for your help to help us reach our goal of $3,000. Although it seems like a lot to fundraise in such a small amount of time, we are determined to do everything we can to achieve our goal. If you have any questions feel free to contact me on Facebook or at my email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Your support is more meaningful than could ever be put into words. Through this project, I hope to help other people have a greater understanding of eating disorders and body image.
