We're back! Another year; another marathon; another reason to keep me going throughout the 26.2 miles! 26.2 miles may seem like a long distance, but it is nothing compared to what some of the children and families in the hemophilia community have to struggle with throughout their lives. Spontaneous bleeds, joint issues that lead to arthitis and ultimately, joint replacements, the cost of medicine (i.e Factor), prolonged hospital stays, leading to huge hospital bills... While Zach is a part of the hemophilia community, his condition has not yet limited his ability to live life to the fullest. He continues to be surrounded by an awesome group of loving, caring, and supportive family, friends and caregivers. We are also blessed with having health insurance that supports him living a normal, active lifestyle because we are able to proactively treat his condition with Factor.
The Bleeding Disorders Alliance Illinois (BDAI) is an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons affected by hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders, as well as the complications resulting from these disorders or their treatment.
Once again this year I will be running the Chicago Marathon on behalf of Zach Attack: Zach's philanthropic group that raises money for BDAI. All of the money raised in conjuntion with this marathon will be dontated to BDAI upon successfully crossing the finish line on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Last year, I had a goal of a 4:45:00 time.... I finished 88 seconds late! This year I am going to beat it! Last year we raised $2,750... Let's beat that too! Help Zach and I reach our goals!! Thanks in advance for your help and support!
