The mission of the Zimmer Children’s Museum is to promote values that help make a better society through interactive learning, creative self-expression and art experiences for children and families. We are dedicated to teaching people about the BIG IDEAS of global citizenship, community responsibility and cultural sensitivity by highlighting the ideals of respect for others, generosity of heart, helping those in need, accepting differences and celebrating uniqueness. For children up to age 8, the Museum’s hands-on exhibits, many of which have Jewish cultural themes, are the focal points from which programming about BIG IDEAS engages diverse participants in learning about one another. The Zimmer’s school and community-based program, youTHink, uses the power of art to foster critical thinking, engage diverse learners, promote literacy and serve as a tool for social change. Each year, we reach over 47,000 children youth and adults who interact with our exhibits, learn at our family and community programs and who participate in our youTHink community service events and internship.
