Up and running-- looking for UVA Colleagues to build the team!!
July 08, 2016
BENEFITING: BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF CENTRAL VIRGINIA
EVENT DATE: Sep 18, 2016
Dear friends, family, colleagues, and supporters:
September 18, 2016 marks the day the UVA Interventional Radaiology (IR!) Team joins hundreds in a fundraising bike ride in support of the Virginia Boys and Girls Clubs.
I am so grateful for the sheer number of people who have made donations. Moving and very meaningful.
UVA IR and Radiology is represented by techs, nurses, residents, senior physicians, supported by over 80 donors so far! We are aiming for 50 and 75 mile distances, with some of us, once surviving the Afton Mountain opening climb, to push for the 100 miler-over 6000 vertical feet ascent over the day. We've been laying down the 'butt-miles' all summer.
Prepare the chamois cream, carbo load our donation accounts, and accept the heartfelt thank you's from the whole team for your support.
Our Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Virginia support over 2,000 local youth by offering over 1,500 hours of programs each year in six different Clubs. The Clubs are a positive, welcoming environment for kids after school during the school year and full-time during the summer months. Below are just a few ways the staff at B&GC are changing lives.
