Zoey and Camden's 7 for 7 challenge
Organized by: Meredith Verrill
WOOHOO! OVER OUR GOAL AND 24 HOURS OF SKIING!
March 16, 2016
Our names are Camden and Zoey. Zoey is about to turn 7 years old. We are pretty lucky, so Zoey is choosing this birthday to raise money for Cynthia's Challenge instead of getting presents from her friends and family . Cynthia is our 2nd cousin Cynthia was born with tuberous sclerosis - also called tuberous sclerosis complex. TSC is a rare, multi-system genetic disease that causes benign tumors to grow in the brain and on other vital organs such as the kidneys, heart, eyes, lungs and skin. There is no cure for TSC, although treatment is available for a number of the symptoms. Cynthia Challenge is pretty amazing check out her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CynthiasChallenge/ Cynthia's Challenge was started to help raise money for a service dog, to help Cynthia's family detect seizures before the onset, which has allowed Cynthia to live life more independently. Cynthia received Jersey her dog a few years ago and the family continues to pay it forward! Cynthia’s Challenge has continued to do a Ski-A-Thon each year to help ease the financial burden of children and their families encountering the staggering expenses associated with specialty medical needs. This year the ski-a-thon is on MARCH 18, 2016 and SATURDAY, MARCH 19, 2016. We will be Skiing through the night with our friends and family for Cynthia's Challenge 24-hour Ski-a-Thon! Proceeds from this year’s Cynthia’s Challenge will benefit Kevin Dall, a 10 year old boy from Tamworth, NH with Cerebral Palsy. This year’s goal is set to raise $45,000 for Kevin’s family to purchase a wheelchair accessible van. Kevin was born almost 4 months premature which caused a brain bleed and consequently, Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is considered a neurological disorder caused by a non-progressive brain injury or malformation that occurs while the child’s brain is under development. Cerebral palsy primarily affects body movement and muscle coordination. Kevin, now age 10, desperately needs a wheelchair accessible van so he can get to his many appointments and take part in the activities he loves, such as skiing at King Pine with Granite State Adaptive, with his mother, Amy Dall, and sister Carly. Kevin’s father, Gary Dall, very recently passed away after a long battle with cancer. We feel like we are a very lucky family and want to help pay it forward, it would be great to bring a check for $2,000 to Cynthia and Kevin on March 18th! If each person could just donate $7.00 or more if you like we will hit this goal easily, we think we know a lot of people! Please help us reach our goal by Zoey's birthday - March 6th!!! Thank you!!! It's Cynthia's birthday too:) If you could share this page too, that may help! Thanks for the information on the page Stacie Verrill - I copied and pasted a lot:) Love, Camden age 9 and Zoey age 6 and 3/4
