BENEFITING: Blood Water Mission
EVENT DATE: Oct 26, 2013
Our goal is to provide a thrilling zombie-themed community run to raise funding for Blood:Water Mission, which advocates for clean water and AIDS awareness in Africa. Nothing strengthens a local community better than uniting behind a common cause and working together. Our one-mile zombie-infested adventure run will not only test your physical abilities, but will also challenge your notions of what a "community" means.
Through our physical efforts and combined financial support, our goal is to provide funding for clean water so that 20 children in Africa can attend school -- about $500. Our local community working through Blood:Water Mission can provide clean water sources for communities in Africa. This will allow children to attend school rather than spending the majority of their day collecting drinking water for their families from remote locations.
The day of the event will reveal multiple waves of Zombie infestation. Some people will use the threat of zombies to encourage them to run. Others will use their sprinting abilities to allow them to survive the final wave by running for their very lives. The route will be part road race and part trail run. You will have obstacles both stationary and moving -- both living and not quite living.
We hope to see you on Tichenor Court on Oct. 26. Bring your best running shoes, your sense of adventure, and please support a good cause, because you are going to need all the good karma you can get.
