Christine and Kimberly Falgout are excited to announce Island Operating’s fundraising campaign, Zone in on The Cure for Cancer. Island Operating Company, in its first fundraising effort for The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, will engage its workforce in a six-month campaign to raise awareness and funds to help support the institutio...n’s quest to end cancer. The campaign will be grounded in Island’s ZONE Zero culture – further leveraging the successful efforts in making the company the safest and healthiest workplace possible. Our goal is for there to be 100% participation at every employee level and to ultimately raise $100,000 to donate to MD Anderson, commencing this March and closing at the end of August.
This campaign is important to Island because it supports our efforts to build on our unique safety-first environment as well as strengthen our family-focused culture. With Gregg Falgout’s recent appointment to a position on the MD Anderson Cancer Center Board of Visitors, the timing is right to support the institution and Island’s leader. As emphasized with our ZONE Zero efforts, Island always has your back and the same is true should you or a family member need access to MD Anderson’s world-renowned cancer center – as several Islanders and Island family members battling cancer have been able to benefit from the remarkable research and treatment at MD Anderson. Further, with families across Island being touched in some way by cancer, this effort is consistent with Island’s commitment to community, both inside and outside the company.
While the goal is to increase awareness, engage those closest to Island and raise funds, the ultimate outcome is to further define Island and bring its people closer together around the causes and values that drive the company.
Those who donate $100 or more will receive a Zone in on The Cure for Cancer t-shirt. All who donate will be entered into a raffle for agreat Island giveaway. Further, if we reach our goal of $100,000, all who donated will be entered into an additional raffle and 5 lucky donors will win anall-expenses paid (EXCEPT for gambling!!!) weekend trip to the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, Louisiana
(valued at $1300).
We appreciate you helping us make ZONE in on The Cure for Cancer a success!
