BENEFITING: J MOSS FOUNDATION
Hello. My name is Elissa, and I take great pride in helping many of you achieve your birthday wish goals. I do so with the help of my two hiking buddies Zulu and Kali, my wonderful Rhodesian Ridgebacks who are my inspirations. It's now my turn for a birthday wish, and I can think of nothing more fitting than to dedicate my wish to Zulu.
Zulu will not be helping me with many miles during this wish; he will be enduring his fourth surgery for the removal of a cancerous tumor on March 29th. This will not be his last surgery, but the way he comes back to himself so quickly after surgery to give nothing but love to his sister, his daddy, and myself is truly inspirational.
We usually do about 2 miles a day, 6 days per week, so we'll set the goal at 48 miles. Please donate your exercise miles this month (from March 29th to April 29th) to honor Zulu.
This year Zulu will be celebrating his 10th birthday! If you're unable to participate physically in my wish, or are just feeling generous, please consider making a $10 donation (on this page) to support my wish.
HOW TO DONATE YOUR EXERCISE MILES
Donating your exercise miles is both fun and easy. Just do your favorite fitness activity, like hiking with 2 Ridgebacks, and keep track of all your miles from 3/29- 4/29. You can walk, run, hike, swim, or bike.
You can then share your miles as you go along on our Skinny Gene Healthy Birthday Wishes page on Facebook, or on my own Facebook wall.
P.S If you're walking or running with your four-legged babies, I'd love to see pictures, please feel free to post them. :)

ABOUT THE WISHES PROGRAM
Skinny Gene Healthy Birthday Wishes are a fun and rewarding way of staying active and motivating others (or yourself) to live a healthy lifestyle, all while supporting those who are at-risk and helping them to prevent diabetes.
Elissa Ritt is the latest person to dedicate her birthday to prevention. She’s celebrating one more year of life by giving another family the opportunity to fend-off diabetes and bring-on 23 more years of birthday celebrations. Without wishes like Elissa's, these 23 extra candles may never have the chance to be lit. (Click here to see one family's story, and how we help.)
The Skinny Gene Project is a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization that specializes in prediabetes management.
Donations will be used to provide financial assistance, which covers nutrition education and counseling for low income adults on our waiting list, who are at risk for developing diabetes in the near future but lack the financial resources needed to prevent diabetes from affecting their family.
